Artists often express in their songs something previously experienced. On Open Street it was a road trip through Norway in the late summer 2017. This beautiful country with its breathtaking scenery, nice people and never-ending roads was the inspiration for this song. Just as intense as this road trip was the whole session with Todd. Back at home, we started directly to preserve the entire energy musically which we had stored by the trip. For one week, only music was on the agenda: jamming, gathering ideas, again jamming, editing sounds, recording, mixing, mastering and the new indie-country song by Todd Valldal joined the history of Mountaineer Records. The sound is particularly influenced by the down-to-earth recording technique, the analogue effects, the slide guitar for which a bottle of wine had to give up its head, the amped harmonica, the Ebow bass sound that forms the foundation in the middle section and the drum rods, which were specially designed out of shashlik skewers. Now take a seat in your old rusty pickup, switch the radio to Mountaineer FM and be curious about what's waiting for you behind the next turn. Vi ses snart!
