TIDAL MEN

- Moonshine -

The sixth In The Loop Session, performed by Tidal Men at the Rursound Studio, also had a lot to offer. As all other sessions, nobody knew what will happen, as no one had thought about which genre, which instruments, which stylistic devices and what structure it should be. And that is exactly the charm of this unusual format. Just do what comes to mind at this moment and preserve that feeling.
The drummer decided to take a different approach at this session. Shortly before the session began, he fled into the instrument chamber and rummaged around for some time. Finally, he came back with a grinning face and a drum machine, and by plugging this machine in, this In The loop session began. The drum machine triggered previously recorded drum sounds such as bass drum, snare, cymbal, and cowbell at the right time via MIDI. The remaining instrument loops were controlled via Ableton Live and a foot controler. Already after the first bass sound, the song drifted into a slightly funky direction, which was confirmed by the following wah guitar. Since the drummer with his fancy drum computer should not remain the only vintage freak, the guitarist rummaged for an ancient reporter microphone, plugged it into a vocoder and sent a few vowels through the signal chain.
