After years of studio work and compressing all results into a one- or two-hour live set it is an incredible feeling, when you look in plenty smiling faces after the last chord and you know that every minute of work has been worthwhile. To give the audience an unforgettable show, it is important to develop an appropriate live concept and convey the right feeling of the respective song live. Mountaineer Records is involved in several live projects, such as Studio Sessions, Live Shows and private Livingroom Sessions with various artists and concepts.
At the beginning of 2020, all plans for the current year disappeared from one moment to another. Suddenly a word with "C" dominated our everyday lives. As for many others, for us this meant: Let's stay at home! To get a little insight into the home office of Mountaineer Records, we recorded one day for you. Stay healthy. Keep rocking and keep riding.
As in the last few years, the Besen Festival Crew invited again in the late summer 2019 all those who want to end the running festival season with live acts and DJ sets, camping, creative brooms, the smell of grilled foodstuff and warm summer nights. Of course, we didn't miss such a great and regional event. That's why Mountaineer Records was involved again. With "The Flying Hedgehog" we presented the headliner for Friday, the first of the three festival days. The show by The Flying Hedgehog was themed "Psychedelic Childhood". They played songs of their youth respectively the songs of their very first music projects. These songs were not only their first musical experiences, but also an inspiration for their following work. The self-interpretations of songs of their first heroes were melted together by improvised parts and complemented by own songs. The live set featured beside dirty lo-fi guitar sounds and hard snare hits as well as slowed down slacker beats and folk chords. The represented genres were slacker, desert, stoner and bluesrock. The songs were accentuated by a psychedelic liquid light show inspired by the good old psych 60th. With the combination of rock 'n' roll, visual drugs and a great audience, the first day of the Besen Festival 2019 was a full success and the visitors were thus optimally prepared for the next festival days. For this reason we would like to thank the Besen Festival Crew, the other artists and all festival guests. So, "Let's fly....high with the hedgehogs!"
In August 2017, the first Mountaineer Garage Session took place. The session was launched shortly by Mountaineer Records in cooperation with the Besen Festival Crew to create an alternative event for the "Besen Festival 2017", which unfortunately had to be cancelled due to weather conditions. To guarantee that the already present festival visitors could enjoy a musical weekend with the announced acts, all organizers decided in a crisis meeting to redirect the musical part to the Mountaineer Garage. This was the birth of the Mountaineer Garage Session. Where in the morning still bodywork was done on classic cars, in the evening Mount Jackdaw and Tidal Men were on stage. Mount Jackdaw presented their songs with an extensive loop concept and a well-fitting light show. Tidal Men presented the songs of their recently released album "Channels" for the first time. After the live performance, the Shore Break DJ Set fed the visitors at the after show party with the finest indie, funk, psych, jazz and trip hop beats until late into the night. Due to the good cooperation and the impressive crowd, the evening was unforgettable and magnificent. For this, we would like to thank all participants and look forward to the next Live Session and a sunny "Besen Festival" next time.
The Rursound Session is a format that captures the visual component of the music. The location is not predefined and can be anything from the studio environment to the forest. Tidal Men, who spontaneously performed their song Summer Rain in the studio shortly after their recording process, started with the first episode.
Living room concerts are intimate small venue sessions. In such a concert, the performed songs are given a unique character due to the minimalist setup. It also
creates a special atmosphere by the closeness of artists and audiences, such as in the small session at Haus Hohenbusch Erkelenz, where Mount Jackdaw performed some slimmed-down versions of their
own songs and also played a few cover songs.
