A looper, or loop station, is a tool for musical design to repeat previously played sequences and superimpose them as often and as long as desired. The combination of improvisation and this
overdub technique in the song production results in unique sounds, compositions and arrangements that would never arise in the typical songwriting process.
Under the motto, "One Looper - One Hour - One Song", In the Loop was specially created by Mountaineer Records to give artists an exceptional songwriting experience. Each participating artist or
band can interpret the In the Loop principle themselves and implement it with individual stylistic means. Whether the song ultimately only has a single loop structure or looped passages that are
later formed into one song is not crucial. It is just important that the song is characterized by a distinctive loop flair and has a rawness to maintain the moment of improvisation due to the
lack of post-processing and the time restriction.
